To our friends from across the globe,
This looks to be a summer unlike any before, there is no denying it.
Many of you have had to cancel your dream vacations, already planned and booked. Others have put summer holiday planning on hold as the situation worldwide remains uncertain.
Here in Italy, we are slowly beginning to return to normal life as the spread of the pandemic within our borders slows.
It is not the life we had before, but one that reflects the new reality we are all facing, with new habits and ways of interacting.
We wear masks and keep a safe distance, but we are finally able to see our relatives again, take walks outside, and watch the sunset over the sea.
Cafès and restaurants are still closed; the Italian government anticipates reopening these businesses 18 May, the same month that many hotels anticipate opening for the season.
Ferries, trains, and buses are running with a fewer number if passengers and sanitizing the interiors after each route.
The most important unknown at this point are flights, as many airlines have not yet announced when they will begin scheduling regular flights again.
In the meantime, we send you our very best wishes along with a bit of our bright sunshine and blue skies, in the hopes of seeing you again soon.
From all of us here at Estateolie and estateolie2app to all of you, wherever you may be, Arrivederci! (Until we meet again!)

The Aeolian archipelago consists of seven islands spread over a 90 km sea arch, along Sicily’s north-east coast. They are dispersed in a large Y-shape. Vulcano is at the lower end, with Alicudi and Stromboli respectively being at the west and east extremes.
The Aeolian islands are all of volcanic origin; signs of this volcanic activity being the underwater hot water springs and the therapeutic spa mud. The oldest island is Filicudi, about a million years old. The youngest are the more active volcanic islands: Volcano and Stromboli, which still have volcanic activity.
Lipari’s islands, thanks to its favourable geographic position, enjoy a typically Mediterranean climate. The average temperatures vary from 10° C in winter, to 20-21° C in spring and autumn, while during the summer the thermometer shows temperatures between 27-30 C. Rainfall is scarce, especially in summer.

The average temperature varies from 10 ° C, in the winter season, to 20-21 ° C, in the spring and autumn period.
