Discover your Aeolian islands, Italy

We can suggest the best tours and experiences to fit your travel style during your visit to Aeolian islands

To our friends,

we are living through one of the most challenging times in modern history.

This is usually the season when the Aeolian islands come to life.
Today, all is silent.
The area of the Castle of Lipari , the Piazzetta di Marina Corta, the characteristic Aeolian alleys are empty.

The seasons march on, and spring has exploded with all its exuberant joy: At sunset, the sweet smell of jasmine flowers waft from hidden gardens and the sky is a piercing cobalt blue.

The crystalline waters off the coast are teeming with life, the towering Faraglioni hover silently, unchanged over the millennia and indifferent to our human suffering.

So many of you were forced to cancel or postpone holidays on Aeolian islands scheduled for the spring, and it’s still impossible to know how the situation will play out this summer. No one can say when we can start to explore the world again, to relax on the beach, to explore new destinations...in short, to live.

What we do know is that nothing will be the same, but perhaps everything will be better: we will learn to enjoy simple things like a walk in nature, the first swim of the summer, an aperitivo in a lively sidewalk café under the stars.

We won’t need indulgent extravagances, knowing that the most precious luxury is freedom.

In the meantime, we send our heartfelt best wishes from Lipari, along with the warm promise of spring and the hope that we will be able to see you soon.

Aeolian islands

The Aeolian archipelago consists of seven islands spread over a 90 km sea arch, along Sicily’s north-east coast. They are dispersed in a large Y-shape. Vulcano is at the lower end, with Alicudi and Stromboli respectively being at the west and east extremes.

The Aeolian islands are all of volcanic origin; signs of this volcanic activity being the underwater hot water springs and the therapeutic spa mud. The oldest island is Filicudi, about a million years old. The youngest are the more active volcanic islands: Volcano and Stromboli, which still have volcanic activity.

Lipari’s islands, thanks to its favourable geographic position, enjoy a typically Mediterranean climate. The average temperatures vary from 10° C in winter, to 20-21° C in spring and autumn, while during the summer the thermometer shows temperatures between 27-30 C. Rainfall is scarce, especially in summer.
