Alla Fossa della Fucina The Fucina degli Dei is accessible easily enough. Once arriving at the crater’s peak you are taken aback by the pungent smell of sulphurous gas; in fact there are numerous fumaroles and sulphur mines. The lunar landscape still shows traces of the last volcanic eruptions (explosions and solidified lava). During the descent a stop at the hot mud pools is advised. |
